The name Gamma Epsilon Tau comes from the ancient Greek language. Translated, Gamma means letter, literature, or alphabet; Epsilon, science or knowledge; and Tau, art or craft. Hence, Gamma Epsilon Tau stands for "The Science or knowledge of the art and craft of letters." The Zeta chapter has several active committees including Printing Promotions, Social & Community Service, Nationals, Alumni, Membership, and Fundraising. We also have two special projects: Pig Roast and Banquet. The Zeta chapter holds an annual Banquet to honor graduating seniors and to award active faculty in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. The Pig Roast is an annual barbecue where present and past members get together to celebrate the past year.
